Rowing

The first recorded rowing race was in 1715 on the River Thames – and we’ve been taking on the world ever since. It’s been an Olympic sport since 1900, and today Team GB continue to inspire waves of youngsters to take to the water with their consistent medal haul. In fact, rowing is the only sport we’ve won a gold medal at every Games since 1984, and it’s made Dame Katherine Grainger Britain's most decorated female Olympian.
