More sales, less work

Ammanford had already gone digital, with players across its three football teams paying a monthly standing order – a combined payment to cover club fees and entry into a prize draw.

But it wasn't seamless. Treasurer Cerith still had to reconcile payments and manually enter names into the draw. It was admin time he'd sooner have spent generating more sales.

And worse, the standing order was confined to players. Other members weren't paying in routinely – and there was no hope of getting people outside the club to set up a monthly bank payment.

So when the club heard about Support My Team, they were quick to join – seeing a chance to:

After moving the standing orders across to the SMT platform, they set about selling more tickets to members. Today, they're nearing £600 in regular monthly sales.

Meanwhile, they're lining up a campaign to sell more to their support base, as well as parents with children in their junior side.

Some of the money raised is covering running costs, but much of it is ringfenced for overdue ground improvements, including upgrades to the stand, facilities and clubhouse.

In the long term, they have plans to attract more juniors and improve their coaching, so there's still a lot to raise.

But after just a few months, they’re already making big strides.
